Here's a few of the most common noises found in car stereo and how to fix or avoid them. Alternator Whine . Alternator whine is the granddaddy of car ... Non-Wireless Interference Audio systems can be affected by interference from AM radio stations, TV transmitters, radar systems and many kinds of electrical equipment. The interference usually enters the audio system via the audio cables at the mixer (console) or power amplifiers, or via the AC power lines.
The first is to prevent the radio interference from reaching the antenna by shielding. If the noise source is totally enclosed in a metal can, then the noise is contained and cannot reach the antenna. An example of this is the ignition system of a car which is enclosed in the metal car body. While there is some leakage of radio noise, the ... Hi Martin, it’s possible… What you’re experiencing is a sort of radio interference caused by the new LED bulbs. It’s actually kind of common and has more to do with the technology your car uses for the TPMS system than it does the LED bulbs. If your TPMS system isn’t shielded very well you’ll run into this sort of thing. Either way, check if you still hear the interference when you play an mp3 with the car on and the device not charging. If it's still there, then the output line is the problem; if it isn't, then the power supply is the problem. posted by clorox at 1:04 AM on October 24, 2010

When I push the start button all the speakers and tweeters have a very high pitch buzz/ring that doesn't change with car speed or radio volume and also continues for a bit after car has been turned off. Local car shop that installed the sound system said after trouble shooting the buzzing stopped when they disconnected the WiFi antenna in the dash. Radio Frequency Interference. Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) involves the presence of unwanted interfering RF signals that disrupt the original data signals from wireless devices. RFI in a wireless network can lead to adverse effects, for example, intermittent connectivity loss, poor throughput, and low data rates.
The first step in finding the source of your car audio static or noise is to determine whether the problem is with the radio, accessories like the built-in CD player, or external accessories like your iPhone. To do this, you’ll want to start by turning on your head unit and setting it up so that you can hear the offending noise. The filter itself arrests any noise on the DC power supply to car stereos, CBs etc better than ever. Most importantly it enables the installer to mount the unit without drilling mounting holes. You can secure this unit with either short or long cable ties. It will also saddle on a wiring loom if necessary. Specifications. Radio interference in UHV AC substations mainly comes from corona on such equipment as busbars, fittings, and insulators. When the electric field strength on the surface busbar, fitting, and insulator and other energized conductors in the switchyard exceed the critical value, resulting in ionization of surrounding air followed by corona discharge, radio interference is stimulated.
Every car I have had plays its AM radio without much interference. None from the car. The AM radios do not have high treble audio frequencies and have pretty high distortion. They are made to hear an announcer read the news, weather forcast or a traffic report. Electromagnetic interference (EMI), also called radio-frequency interference (RFI) when in the radio frequency spectrum, is a disturbance generated by an external source that affects an electrical circuit by electromagnetic induction, electrostatic coupling, or conduction. Hi, Please see below, a list of general steps that can be taken to eliminate or reduce radio interference. Radio interference in a vehicle is not always easy to eliminate, as most modern electronic devices generate some level of “RF†(radio frequency) switching, which the designers should attempt to keep inside the unit and prevent it from getting out.
They usually ask me what kind of radio is best for AM, or which radio will bring in a particular station they are unable to receive adequately. The answers are often complex because one of the most misunderstood aspects of getting good AM reception is dealing with and reducing local noise, referred to as Radio Frequency Interference, or RFI. I have found the car dash cam was the cause of all my problems with the radio signal reception, hissing buzzing and the like. I have come to the conclusion that I can only use one or the other when it comes to my radio or dash cam operation. Any discussion is welcome, please.
